Bruce Bernstein, CCO & Co-Founder
Bruce serves as the Chief Content Officer and executive producer of content for Pure Hoops Media. A four time EMMY Award winner, Bruce has spent more than three decades covering the NBA for various platforms. At ESPN, he served as Coordinating Producer for NBA studio shows such as Countdown, NBA Tonight, NBA Coast to Coast, and The Jump. Bruce also oversaw SportsCenter’s coverage of the NBA Finals from 1994-2015.
Bruce is a lifelong Celtics fan who saw his first game in 1966 between the Celtics and the St. Louis Hawks. His top 4 Celtics of all time are Bill Russell, John Havlicek, Larry Bird, and Paul Pierce.
Eric Newman, CEO & Co-Founder
Eric is the Chief Executive Officer of Pure Hoops Media. As a video producer, director and content creator he has a wealth of experience working in basketball, media & production. A life long sports and film enthusiast he has been able to combine his passions to grow a unique career working with the likes of Showtime Sports, The Robot Company, Uninterrupted, ESPN, DraftKings, Bleacher Report, New Balance, Nike, Five-Star Basketball and more.
In 2018 Eric created THE RESURGENCE: Demarcus Cousins with Showtime Sports as he is Executive Producing the film set to air in 2019.
As a former basketball coach and life long Celtics fan, Eric’s passion for the game, the opportunities it creates for people and his enthusiasm for the storytelling around it is second to none.
Scott Calka, COO & Co-Founder
Scott graduated from Skidmore College with the ambition to get into the Media and Sports marketplace. As an avid NY sports fan, he landed his first job out of college at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden. During his career so far, Scott has worked for Comcast Spotlight, DirecTV, Fox Sports, and the Florida Panthers. Although he enjoyed his time working at large and prestige organizations, Scott decided to venture out and start his own company, Crossover Media Group, L.L.C.

Ron Hartenbaum, CFO & Co-Founder
Ron’s background as an innovator in national talk radio is widely recognized. Beginning in the ad agency business with major houses Needham and Grey, Ron moved on to broadcast as VP of Sales for Westwood One then becoming a founding partner of MediaAmerica and CEO of Jones Radio Networks. Developing new markets for major brands like NASCAR/Motor Racing Network, the NFL, NCAA Football and the Rush Limbaugh program, Ron was instrumental in creating uniquely successful sales strategies for many major national brands.
