Dave Wohl has had one of the most amazing hoop careers ever. He was a first round pick in 1971 out of an Ivy League School (Penn). He played for 6 seasons, coached for more than 30, and has been an executive with the Celtics and Clippers. He has incredible recall and can tell a story with the best of them. At 1:00 Mike and Dave play “Six Degrees of Dave Wohl” and got back to Dr. Naismith in 5 … the connections are amazing. At 6:50 he describes the dead spots on the old Boston Garden floor and how visiting teams needed to know where every one was. Perhaps his greatest insight is on Pat Riley (9:00 mark) and why being a “Control Freak” was one of his greatest strengths. Dave was also in LA when the original Shaq/Kobe beef started back in the late ’90’s. At 15:10 Dave breaks it all down. he has classic Doc Rivers stuff (25:00), some good stories from Dave and Kurt Rambis’ time in Minnesota (31:30) and an absolutely hilarious Kevin Loughery story (36:30). This is just a taste of an amazing conversation.
